Freedom of Choice Act, does he still hope congress sends it to him to sign.
Answer: Abortion is a moral and ethical issue. this is not an issue simply of women’s freedom.
Says women don’t take it casually and struggle and are better to make it better than members of congress. Doctors, family clergy to help them make decision.
Wants to reduce teen pregnancies. he has a task force that is working with groups, pro choice and pro life to see if they can arrive on concensus on that.

It was so weird watching him say this live because no one there reacted at all. I almost thought I heard it wrong, when he said FOCA is about ethics and morals, not about women’s freedom.

Baseball was the one game I could follow. Football, to violent and I never got the rules. Basketball, too boring. Hockey was fast but those sidechecks were much too violent for my taste. Ex hubby used to take me to all the games. Baseball was my fave and I became a fan. In MA, that means RED SOX NATION.

I watched a movie the other night,”True Confessions”, with Deniro and Duvall. The supporting cast had Ed Flanders, Charles Durning, Kenneth McMillan. One of the best ensemble company of actors assembled for one film. Duvall’s character was played against the subtly of Deniro and it was fantastic. The film never was a big hit but it is worth watching to see performances of that level and stature on the screen. An overlooked gem.

But angie, the Red Sox give us up here so much. We live with their highs and lows. We never know what will happen. The Yankees always had the momentum but the Sox, well they just kept on going. We absolutely fall in love with our players. When the Yawkey family owned the Sox it was like family. Dependable, you know? Not like the Yanks who hired and fired managers more often than Jennifer Aniston does boyfriends.
The Sox are our team, win or lose. Unlike the Yankee fans who desire to get their money’s worth, we love them no matter what.

And I know that taggles and Murphy would agree, when you enter Fenway Park for the first time, or even after a long spell, you cannot help but get swept away in the majesty of it. Sheri – thank you for this post and providing a place for like minded posters last night. While cruising this AM to check the “pulse” in Bloggdom, I found this lifted from transcripts of POS’s speech at a former haunt. It is part of his answer to Ed Henry’s question regarding his position on women’s rights.

The other thing that I said consistently during the campaign is I would like to reduce the number of unwanted presidencies that result in women feeling compelled to get an abortion, or at least considering getting an abortion, particularly if we can reduce the number of teen pregnancies, which has started to spike up again.”
The typo – unwanted presidencies – is hysterical to me. If only we could prevent unwanted presidencies – LOL
On a more serious note – the thread was written by someone on a legal Democratic blog that said in response to this:’His proposal to reduce unwanted pregnancies (also known as birth control) is a welcome one for pro-choicers. It is also a Trojan Horse for anti-choicers. They oppose family planning. The obtuse William Saletan has never understood this and makes a fool of himself periodically on the issue. No doubt he has a column today praising Obama for this “new position” for progressives. It is not new, but it is meritorious. It will not bridge the “ideological divide” as Obama says, nor frankly, do I expect he thinks it will. But it is good politics for him.’

I guess it takes a wet noodle to prop up a wet noodle. Oh so nuanced, so civil. This is from a blog I left because they embraced POS after the illegal actions of the RBC – never addressed this action at all.
