First, one long ass article from Vanity Fair, on all the reasons you should hate Sarah Palin:

Says Professor William Jacobson regarding Wonkette’s despicable treatment of Sarah Palin’s year-old son, Trig. And I would amend the professor’s sentiments only to improve them by saying, “It takes gay men to stoop this low.”

Kern is now pushing a “Oklahoma Citizen’s Proclamation for Morality” that blames America’s “economic woes” on “abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse ,and many other forms of debauchery”:
WHEREAS, we believe our economic woes are consequences of our greater national moral crisis; and
WHEREAS, this nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery;
It’s amazing how homophobia and sexism/misogyny go hand in hand, isn’t it??

I thought you would like to see this.
I sometimes can not believe the level of hatred toward Governor Palin and Secretary Clinton. Both have served their country and have gotten nothing but grief for doing so. The harm is long lasting and could prevent people with good things to add to the country from ever running for office and we all lose.
The words ” divide and conquer” have never had more meaning then now.
Also the words ” we all hang together or we all hang separately”
This country is more divided now than anytime in my lifetime. The divisions between age and gender and lifestyle and economic circumstances is widening.
As long as we do not work together we can accomplish nothing. I do not have the answers but I am willing to listen to ideas that will help.

Re Palin: She certainly seems to get the Establishments’ jockeys in a twist, doesn’t she? They are desperately trying to make her into a lying monster. I think I’m going to start calling this reflexive woman hatred by the oligarchy/patriarchy “Fear of Uterus” (initials: FU.)
Re Sally Kern: What is just so hilarious is all these people screaming about moral values, tend to be fine with people straying from those values as long as they are either born-again Christians or Republicans (or both).
So what has really led to the decline of America, Sally Kern? Immorality, but only from a certain population? Do Ted Haggard, Jim Swaggart, John Ensign or Mark Sanford count? Or is it only the Democratic/non-evangelical offenders like Jim McGreevey and John Edwards whose sins cause God to smite us with his mighty nostrils?

Well, at least that McCain supporter didn’t call us “faggots!” On the other hand, she fits right in with a shitload of Obama supporters. And let us not forget Obama’s own “gay marriage is like incest and child rape” philosophy. I’m not sure these people are sneaking in through the back door, taggles! They are ringing the door bell and walking right in!
This latest Vanity Fair article is part of a concerted effort by the GOP leadership to sideline and marginalize Palin. These kinds of articles will continue to be published through 2012 at the very least. Surely Palin must realize that it’s coming directly from her own party. When did Hillary realize that the DNC leadership was out to sink her? It certainly didn’t make her angry enough to push back, though. She remained a loyal Democrat. Palin will remain a loyal Republican, even as her party continues to shit on her. Do Clinton and Palin have “abused wife syndrome?”

Here are a few of my talking points today. I think I’ve given some of the gay men over there something to think about. (They stopped blogging that thread.)
“Hillary Clinton opened up this can of worms to push Obama to deal with this sooner than later by having the review of State and the enforcement of gay benefits. Hilda Solis came out yesterday and confronted the destruction of the gay pride posters at the Department of Labor. (She also started the Lesbian and Gay Caucus while in Congress.) Obama invited no one from the State Department or Department of Labor. Other Departments were invited. It wasn’t just gay advocacy groups that got invitations.”
“Wow, bradk, those are some of the same things that have been said about the LGBT community in our demands: “nitpicking” and “more important issues” and “petty”. I would assume that some of you might not know that the ERA still has not been ratified by a few states. That ratification will only benefit the gay and lesbian community. Some of you might want to dig a little deeper.”

The title “It Came From Wasilla,” written about a highly-accomplished female politician who inspires “F.U.”, is a textbook example of knee-jerk misogyny. It’s shocking how much of this was under the radar until true threats to the oligarchy/patriarchy appeared on the horizon. The assumption that it is appropriate and funny to use the pronoun “it” to describe Palin is ingrained very deeply in our culture, I fear.
Like AA equality, female and LGBT equality will not trickle up from the states. There are too many bigots in America. It will only succeed if the mandate comes from the Federal government, through the ERA IMHO.
I agree, taggles. Women are completely beaten down at this point. We need to join forces with the LGBT community to revitalize our movement – and work towards a mutually beneficial goal.

Society seems to be moving in the opposite direction. The behavior of the so called progressive Dems in the last election cycle was an eye opener and quite depressing.
A “liberal” perspective is not the base-line for human beings, it requires individual effort to move beyond seeing the world as “us against them”, be afraid of the “other”, a love of violence, comfort in an authoritarian environment, “magical thinking”, etc. The Republicans became experts at pushing our “primate” buttons in order to get people to vote against their self interest and now we have a Dem President who was elected using those same tactics.

I am really serious and don’t want to admit it out loud: I am so mad, and I am so sad, or the perfect storm of both. I have to take a political break for a bit and get out some art. Sometimes I feel like I have nothing else to offer than that, or perhaps, I need to take full responsibility that my art is the most valuable thing I have to offer. Riding roller coasters for a few days didn’t seem to help: too close to my emotional state. Wish me Godspeed to get some art out of me. I will check you all later when I am not a crying basket case.

I think we can still apply pressure politically, that’s what it’s all about, right. It’s not just about being right, but being loud and right. We have to shame them. In doing so, we might turn the tide a bit. But we do NOT need a majority of women or LGBT to get things to go our way.

1) Take their parties on directly. Don’t mince words, just come out and state plainly: My party has been doing everything it can to destroy me and I won’t let them. [This] is what they are doing and [this] is why the are wrong. Hillary never did this. She never called the DNC out. Palin hasn’t called out the GOP. They both have substantial bases that they could have tried to use, including asking their supporters to not donate money to the parties. Would it split the party? Perhaps, but I don’t think that would have been a bad thing. The Democratic party split anyway. Except that the majority, because of Hillary’s silence, won and we lost.
2) Quit the party and go independent, or start a third party. If anyone had a chance to create and build a third party to be reckoned with it was Hillary following the Democratic primaries. With millions of supporters behind her (and some of them were Republicans) she could have dealt a massive blow to the two-party system. It’s too late now. She decided to go back to the DNC and work from inside that broken system. Perhaps Palin’s time hasn’t arrived yet. She has grassroots support, but if she manages to build it she will be in the same position Hillary was in. The GOP will do to Palin what the DNC did to Clinton. Will Palin rebel or play along?

The article was written by Todd Purdumb [sp], Dee Dee Meyer’s husband. You remember, the Bill & Hillary hating fellow who wrote that unsubstantiated article claiming the staffers who were traveling with Bill on the campaign trail were flocking to him with their concerns that Bill was cheating on Hillary while on the road. Oh for gosh sakes, I’ve lived this shite for more years than most of you have been alive. Who needs wimmens and gays, cause they always go along to get along….except for those unfortunate blips in the 60′s and 80′s, but we’ve corrected our trajectory and have gotten them corralled now. Now, let me suggest a platform for the next transcendent face that the big money boys choose.
Promise the moon, then when you get what you need, kneejerk them. When they get up, explain that you have terrible remorse, but it wasn”t your fault – “they” made you do it.
Wiggle your hips and show disdain for others – it’s cool, and indicates to the vast unwashed that you recognize the value of people (read wallets)
Never promise. Always make vague commitments like “I will” then when you don’t make sure the reason is because someone else came between you and your intended goal. It’s the “it’s not my fault” scenario. I believe that Ted Bundy tried that and failed, but that was back when people actually used their minds to think.
When the folks start waking from their stupor, throw them a bone and if the bone has already been presented, so much the better. After all, they are not too bright and won’t remember, or investigate, so you’re okay.
Invite the best synchopants to a dinner – they need to feel important and bask in the glory of your existance, so they will be useful….and they have money, which you need. They will influence the rest of the unwashed and do your job for you.

Sanford is a piece of work:
South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford says he “crossed lines” with a handful of women other than his mistress — but never had sex with them.
The governor says he “never crossed the ultimate line” with anyone but Maria Belen Chapur, the Argentine at the center of a scandal that has derailed Sanford’s once-promising political career.
During an emotional interview at his Statehouse office with The Associated Press on Tuesday, Sanford said Chapur is his soul mate but he’s trying to fall back in love with his wife.
He says that during the other encounters he “let his guard down” with some physical contact but “didn’t cross the sex line.” He wouldn’t go into detail.
Sanford said the casual encounters happened outside the U.S. while he was married but before he met Chapur.

DYB – I, too, wanted Hillary to go third-party. Unlike you, though, I think if she’s going to do it, she has to be seen as giving Obama a real shot. Remember the seething, oozing hatred that the Obots had for her before she agreed to work for Dear Leader. Her approval ratings are now through the roof. That never would have happened otherwise.
After two years (or at this rate, one) of this schmuck screwing everything up even worse than Bush, I think the time will be ripe for an Independent bid. She is probably already planning it.
As for Palin, she does not have the high profile or fundraising capability to strike out on her own. She is well and truly stuck, like all American women. We are a majority without a party.

Am just back for a ‘quickie’–As I told another bunch of non-obots, the Lt. Gov. of SC is a total idiot–and a juvenile idiot at that. The Republicans gutted the FDA and Agriculture oversight of food and drugs. I have forgotten the exact numbers but ~25 years ago, there were 55,000 food related inspections: it’s now ~ 5,000. The FDA inspectors in “meat” plants have limited ability to determine if the products are contaminated. Drug companies never publish research that show that a drug doesn’t work or might be dangerous. Drug companies “ghost write” research papers and on and on. Most of this sh*t began with Reagan “Big Gubmint is baaaad”… Of course the gubmint that they cut were the financial and safety protections for the majority of Americans.
I just saw that another large recall of contaminated beef was announced. Toward the end of Bush’s term, the person in charge of food safety quit because of total frustration. His one goal had been to have regulation passed that would prevent meat packers from selling whole pieces of beef that were contaminated with E-Coli bacteria, he couldn’t over come the lobbyists.

SHV, I heard today that the FDA is going to ban nyquil and other cold medicines as OTC drugs. Because of overdoses.
I will be pretty mad if I can’t get nyquil OTC!

If all that they are concerned about is inadvertant acetominophen overdose, why do they not remove it from trhe cold remedies and leave them otherwise alone?

Don’t mean to offend anyone with this post. but this is what we are dealing with here folks and it aint pretty.
Women and LGBT must unite with a strong voice and make people who spew this crapola irrelevant. We can’t work with em because they sickos and there is no making them change their minds so we have to be as forceful as they are.
They are sneaking in the back door through our government forcing their views upon us. Time for pushback is now.
