Morning Widdershins: Forget What’s the Matter With Kansas

Posted by: taggles on: August 31, 2009

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH TEXAS!

This bozo tells his town hall attendees a tale of a woman, who had to beg a doctor to give her infant son a life saving heart operation, after his insurance denied him, that her son would be dead if there was a public option!

I can only hope these people from Texas succeed with their plans……..

I wish they wouldn’t get my hopes up like that!

Whackos, queue twilight zone music!

It is after all the place that spawned Bush, even though he was born in New Haven, went to private schools in Massachusetts, then onto Yale. Something bad happened when he went to Texas LOL.

Okay, I know all Texans aren’t like this, but if they can write a book about Kansas, why not Texas?

Dear Texas,

Secede any time you want.

Love,

America

It would all be all right if not for that find, Rahm Emmanuel
http://wp.me/p38IU-2k9

I feel bad for the left leaning people who live there. Texas is so over run with Republicans it must be hard to live there. I’ve heard it sure is a beautiful state though. I wouldn’t mind vacationing there before they secede.

EOF – OMG, Rahm Emanuel is from Texas?!

CNAK – Austin is supposed to be lovely and a bastion of liberalism. Houston is horribly uncomfortable, according to my hubby. His sister lives there and he visited in the summer. Incredibly hot and humid, and not scenic at all.

“Austin is supposed to be lovely and a bastion of liberalism”

And so it is. Step outside of Austin, and you’re in hell. Visited a friend recently in San Antonio. Never before saw people food shopping with exposed firearms. Kept my mouth shut the whole visit after someone said “You’re a New Yorker? We call you guys ‘mulch’ around here.”

Austin is very liberal, and one of the most quirky towns – even for a college town – that you would ever wish to see. My oldest friend from college now lives in El Paso – interesting town. Pretty well color blind, even in the 60′s and 70′s, but not terribly liberal otherwise despite have a sizable university there. Good party town, though, with Tex-Mex food to die for.

Chat,

I am probably the only person on the planet who doesn’t care for Mex or Tex-Mex food. A taco with no hot sauce is about my limit. I know I’m strange! I think it is really the fact that I don’t like hot stuff.

Anthony -

Kept my mouth shut the whole visit after someone said “You’re a New Yorker? We call you guys ‘mulch’ around here.”

Oh my Goddess! I would have peed my pants! LOL

BTW, Anthony and all other New York Widdershins…if you are still a registered Democrat, you can vote in the September 15th primary. (I am still registered D for this very reason.) I hope you will consider voting for Leslie Crocker Snyder. I have met her and heard her speak on two occasions, and she is a brilliant woman who has a heart of gold and 35 years of experience in the Manhattan criminal justice system. She is like a Hillary who went into law instead of public service. She is running for Manhattan DA, but the NY Times endorsed Cy Vance’s son, who is running against her. Every vote will count because turnout is supposed to be very low.

To find out more, here is her website:

Chatblu – My niece was visiting NYC on a choir trip. She lives in Houston, where the Tex-Mex is also incredible. What did the tour guide do but take those poor Texas kids to a Chili’s, which is like below mall-quality Mexican food?!

Thank goodness we had kidnapped her for a few hours and taken her to a yummy Italian restaurant. New York and Mexican food just DO NOT MIX!!!!

No, New York Mexican just does not make my mouth water. True mexican restaurants, like good Italian restaurants, follow Chatblu’s Law of Ethnic Dining: The quality of the food varies inversely to the decor.

Mmmm, chatblu, I dunno about the Italian restaurant thing. There are lots of very fancy Italian places with wonderful food here in Manhattan.

I do think the Mexican law holds true though. My brother took me to a Mexican restaurant in California that was so delicious…and it was a hole in the wall!

who had to beg a doctor to give her infant son a life saving heart operation, after his insurance denied him,

That story is a little “fishy”.

SHV – What, you don’t believe the nice man from Texas who is telling you the Democrats want to kill your son?

The big surprise: Excellent Mexican in NYC.

83 and Columbus. Check it out – great food good service, and very reasonable. Everything else around here is as you described. Truly a hidden gem

Anthony – I had forgotten about that place! I love it for lunch, but haven’t tried it for anything but.

It really is good. Thanks for reminding me.

Shoot, now I’m craving Mexican. LOL

Democrats want to kill your son?

That….but also denying surgery because of insurance issues….I can’t think of any case where patient care was dependent on “money”. Many of our patients were so poor that they didn’t have a “pot to piss in” as the saying goes. I did a transplant on a kid whose family lived in an abandoned school bus in the woods. No running water, electricity, phone, etc.

SHV – I agree; that woman absolutely could have been a plant.

Thanks, SHV. That is exactly why my entire nursing career was spent at public hospitals.

Good Morning (9am here). I have much to do to prepare for my trip back to the bigotville of which we speak. Shreveport is really not different than east texas. And to think I have to drive all the way across the bigotville state to get to my bigotville destination again. The first time I drove home was to get out the vote for hillary, with bumper stickers and hillary conversations along the way. There is a reason that Louise said to Thelma, “You want to get to Mexico from Oklahoma but you don’t want to go through Texas!”

LTD, are you saying that East Texas is not a friendly place to implement the HA?

The HA was on them when I got the hell out of there after being kicked out of one of their colleges, licking (HA) and screaming all the way. I forgot to say this but I saw a video of some Rep rep giving one of their insurancecare speeches on think progress a while back. I recognized that chapel of the college that he stood in even before I read the article.

New post up – with bonus pic of Hillary looking gawgeous!

Gotta go. Will read your thread later, Mb.

(My computer is working this morning, taggles. Maybe it just needed a break.)
